Rear Unit Endplay Check

1. Attach slide hammer tool No. J-6125-B or equivalent to one of the bolt holes at end of transmission case.

2. Mount dial gage on bolt and index it to end of output shaft, setting indicator to zero.

3. Move output shaft in and out, noting amount endplay. Endplay should be 0.007-0.019 inch. Select replacement selective thrust washer. Rear endplay check must be repeated during transmission assembly to verify accuracy.
