When replacing the input sprag assembly (Figure A) in the THM 700 R4, part # 8663773 is reported to be a heavier duty input sprag with 28 segments, as opposed to the 26 segments used in the older type.




Note
Discard the input carrier thrust washer (Figure B) when installing the 8663773.

The updated input sprag has a flat steel retainer that prevents the forward clutch outer race from contacting the input carrier. Using the input carrier thrust washer with this input sprag results in damage to the washer.
