Internal Components

1. Remove oil pump attaching bolts and washers.

2. Using suitable puller, remove oil pump assembly.

3. Remove oil pump seal and gasket.

4. Remove inside detent lever retaining bolt and the inside detent lever pin.

5. Remove detent lever and actuator.

6. Remove parking lock bracket retaining bolts and the bracket.

7. Remove parking pawl return spring and shaft retainer.

8. Remove parking pawl lock shaft and shaft plug.

9. Remove forward clutch assembly with turbine shaft

10. Remove direct clutch assembly with front band assembly.

11. Remove intermediate clutch assembly snap ring.

12. Remove intermediate clutch backing plate.

13. Remove clutch plates, and waved plate if used.

14. Remove case to center support attaching bolt.

15. Remove snap ring and center support assembly, then the sun gear shaft

16. Remove gear unit assembly and lace in tool J-6116 or equivalent.

17. Remove rear band, thrust washer and selective thrust washer.
