Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair


C, K, R & V SERIES

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then discharge system refrigerant.
2. Remove vehicle grille assembly and center grille support. Remove left grille support to upper fender attaching screws.
3. Disconnect inlet and outlet lines, then outlet tube line at condenser. Plug all open connections.
4. Remove radiator to condenser retaining screws, then bend left grille support outward to provide sufficient clearance to remove condenser.
5. Pull condenser forward, then lower from vehicle.
6. Reverse procedure to install. If installing new unit, add 1 fluid ounce of clean refrigerant oil prior to installation. Use new O-rings coated with clean refrigerant oil at connections.
