Reaction Sun Gear & Shell

1. Inspect reaction sun gear for the following:

a. Nicked, scored or worn bushing.

b. Damaged spline or teeth.

c. Loose or weak retaining ring.

2. Inspect reaction sun shell for stripped or worn splines, broken hub or bent tangs.

3. Inspect Low/Reverse inner race to reaction sun gear shell thrust washer for wear or damage.

4. Inspect reaction shaft to reaction sun gear shell thrust washer for wear or damage.

5. Install reaction sun gear retainer ring onto the reaction sun gear, if previously removed.

6. Install reaction sun gear into reaction carrier while aligning teeth with pinion gears.

7. Install thrust washer onto the Low/ Reverse inner race.

8. Install reaction gear shell onto reaction sun gear.

9. Install bronze thrust washer onto the reaction sun shell.
