Compressor Replacement


ASTRO & SAFARI

4 CYL. ENGINES

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then discharge system refrigerant.
2. Remove engine cover, then disconnect compressor electrical connectors.
3. Remove manifold at rear of compressor.
4. Remove compressor attaching bolts, drive belt and compressor.
5. Reverse procedure to install.


V6 CYL. ENGINES

1. Disconnect battery ground cable and discharge refrigerant.
2. Disconnect electrical connectors from compressor and clutch.
3. Loosen idle pulley and disconnect compressor drive belt.
4. Remove compressor manifold retaining bolt and manifold from rear of compressor, then plug open lines and fittings.
5. Remove carburetor vacuum break to provide clearance.
6. Remove bolts securing compressor to mounting bracket, then the compressor.
7. Reverse procedure to install, using new O-rings when installing manifold.
