Oil Pump Cover & Body Assembly

Refer to the "Service Bulletins" section prior to performing the following procedure.

Fig. 83, Oil pump assembly:





1. Install oil pump cover onto oil pump body, Fig. 83.
2. Install pump cover bolts and tighten finger tight.

3. Using oil pump body and cover alignment tool, No. J-21368, align the pump cover and pump body, Fig. 87.
4. Install pump-to-case gasket into case. Retain in position using suitable grease.

5. Install oil seal rings, if removed, onto the pump cover hub, Fig. 88. Retain in position using suitable grease.
6. Install pump to case oil seal. Ensure seal is not twisted.
7. Install oil pump assembly thrust washer.

8. Install alignment pins, tool No. J-25025-1, into the case as shown in Fig. 89.
9. Install oil pump assembly into case. Ensure all holes are aligned properly.
10. Install oil pump assembly attaching bolts and washers, then torque bolts to specification. Rotate transmission to a horizontal position. If transmission is assembled properly, turbine shaft should turn by hand. If not, identify problem and correct.
