Removal/Installation

Fig. 12 Timing Chain & Sprockets:

1. Remove front cover.
2. Remove camshaft and injection pump gears. Align timing marks as shown in Fig. 12.
3. Remove camshaft sprocket, chain and crankshaft sprocket.
4. To install, proceed as follows:
a. Install timing chain, crankshaft and camshaft sprockets as an assembly. Ensure timing marks are aligned as shown in Fig. 12.
b. Install camshaft gear, bolt and washer. Tighten bolt to specifications.
c. Install injection pump gear and bolts. Align timing marks.
d. Tighten bolts to specifications.
e. Install front cover.
f. Adjust injection pump timing, if new gears, sprockets or timing chain were installed.
