Drive Belt: Service and Repair

Fig. 23 Serpentine Drive Belt Routing. 1992:

1. Using a 1/2 inch breaker bar with a 5/8 inch socket placed on tensioner pulley, rotate tensioner to release belt tension, then remove belt.
2. Route belt over all pulleys except belt tensioner. Refer to Fig. 23, for correct serpentine drive routing.
3. Rotate tensioner to released position and slide belt over tensioner pulley.
4. Ensure belt has correct groove tracking around each pulley.
