PASSLOCK Reprogramming Auto Learn

You must perform a Passlock (TM) Learn Procedure if any of the following components have been replaced:
^ Passlock (TM) sensor
^ Body control module
^ Powertrain control module
^ Vehicle control module

Both of the above modules except for the Passlock (TM) sensor must be programmed using their own vehicle configuration. See the individual module service manual section.

There are 2 types of Passlock learn procedures:
^ A 10 minute procedure which requires a Techline Terminal and a Tech 2 scan tool PASSLOCK Reprogramming Seed and Key
^ A 30 minute procedure which requires a scan tool used in order to clear codes. This procedure is listed below.

30 Minute Procedure
1. Ensure that the battery is fully charged.
2. Use a scan tool in order to clear the Passlock (TM) DTCs.
3. Turn the ignition switch from the OFF position to the CRANK position, and then to the RUN position.
The vehicle will start and then stall.
4. Leave the ignition ON until the security telltale turns OFF in 10 minutes.
5. Repeat Steps 3-5 for 2 more times (3 times total)
6. The Passlock (TM) controller will learn the new data on the next start attempt.
7. Use a scan tool in order to clear all DTCs.
