Battery Box Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the following components from the cover:

* The bolt
* The washer
* The nut
* The retainer

2. Remove the following components:

* The cover
* The cover bolts

3. Remove the following components from the battery box:

* The retainers
* The battery (or batteries),Refer to Battery Replacement Removal and Replacement in Engine Electrical.

4. Remove the battery cables from the battery box.




5. Remove the following components holding the box to the frame rail:

* The bolts
* The washers
* The nuts

Installation Procedure





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

1. Use the following components in order to install the battery box to the frame rail:

* The bolts
* The washers
* The nuts

Tighten the battery box to the frame nuts to 70 Nm (52 lb ft).

2. Use the following components in order to install the battery or batteries to the box refer to Battery Replacement Removal and Replacement in Engine Electrical.

* The retainers
* The bolts

3. Install the battery cables.




4. Install the cover.
5. Install the following components:

* The retainer
* The bolt
