Catalytic Converter Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the nuts from the catalytic converter hanger clamp and remove the clamp.




2. Remove the nuts from the tailpipe to catalytic converter clamp and remove the clamp.
3. Remove the tailpipe.




4. Remove the nuts from the catalytic converter to muffler flange and remove the catalytic converter.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the catalytic converter to the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the nuts to the catalytic converter to muffler flange.

Tighten the nuts to 64 Nm (47 lb ft).




3. Install the tailpipe and clamp.

Tighten the nuts to 29 Nm (21 lb ft).




4. Install the catalytic converter hanger clamp and nuts.

Tighten the nuts to 29 Nm (21 lb ft).

5. Check for clearance and alignment.
