Tightening Sequence

Lower Intake Tightening Sequence:

Lower Intake Manifold

Tighten the intake manifold lower bolts in sequence shown.
- Tighten the intake manifold lower bolts a first pass to 3 Nm (27 ft. lbs.).
- Tighten the intake manifold lower bolts a second pass to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).
- Tighten the intake manifold lower bolts a final pass to 5 Nm (11 ft. lbs.)

Cylinder Head Tightening Sequence:

Cylinder Head

Install the cylinder head bolts finger tight.
- Tighten the cylinder head bolts using the sequence shown.
- Tighten the cylinder head bolts a first pass to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
- Tighten the long cylinder head bolts (1, 4, 5, 8, 9) a final pass to 75 degrees using J 36660-A.
- Tighten the medium cylinder head bolts (12, 13) a final pass to 65 degrees using J 36660-A.
- Tighten the short cylinder head bolts (2, 3, 6, 7, 10, 11) a final pass to 55 degrees using J 36660-A.

5. Install the exhaust manifold bolts and stud.
- Tighten the exhaust manifold bolts and stud on the first pass to 5 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
- Tighten the exhaust manifold bolts and stud on the final pass to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
