Manifold Pressure/Vacuum Sensor: Service and Repair

MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE (MAP) SENSOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Loosen the sight shield bolt.
2. Remove the sight shield.
3. Remove the sight shield retainer bolts.
4. Remove the sight shield retainer.




5. Disconnect the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor electrical connector (1).




6. Remove the MAP sensor (1).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: Lightly coat the MAP sensor seal with clean engine oil prior to installing.




1. Install the MAP sensor (1).




2. Connect the MAP sensor electrical connector (1).




3. Install the sight shield retainer.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the sight shield retainer bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

5. Install the sight shield.
6. Tighten the sight shield bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
