Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the air cleaner outlet resonator.
2. Disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor electric connection.
3. Remove the TP sensor attaching screws (1).
4. Remove the TP sensor (2) and seal (3).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. With the throttle valve in the normal closed (idle) position, install the TP sensor (2) and the seal (3) on the throttle body assembly.
2. Install 2 TP sensor screws (1).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

IMPORTANT: Install the new TP sensor attaching screws when replacing the TP sensor.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

3. Connect the TP sensor electric connection.
4. Install the air cleaner outlet resonator.
