Brake Light Switch: Service and Repair

Brake Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the brake switch connector.







3. Loose the lock nut.
4. Remove the brake switch (1) by turning.

Installation Procedure
1. Install the brake switch.







2. Turn the brake switch counter clockwise until the space between the tip of the threaded portion and the pedal arm is 0.5 to 1.0 mm (0.02-0.04 in).
3. Connect the brake switch connector.
4. Make sure the brake switch is adjusted correctly.
