Engine Oil Pressure Sensor and/or Switch Replacement

DT-48827 Skip Shift Socket

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the left wheelhouse inner panel. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Left Side (Chevrolet) (Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Left Side)Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Left Side (GMC) (Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Left Side).
Note: Clean the area around the sensor. Do not allow debris to enter the engine.

2. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.




3. Using DT-48827 , remove the oil pressure sensor (1).

Installation Procedure




1. Apply sealant to the threads of the oil pressure sensor. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers (Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers) for the correct part number.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Using DT-48827 , install the oil pressure sensor (1).

Tighten the sensor to 49 Nm (36 lb ft).




3. Connect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
4. Install the left wheelhouse inner panel. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Left Side (Chevrolet) (Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Left Side)Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Left Side (GMC) (Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Left Side).
5. Check and add engine oil if necessary.
