Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair




Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement).
2. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the mass airflow (MAF)/intake air temperature (IAT) sensor (2).




3. Disconnect the secondary air injection (AIR) pump inlet hose (1) quick connect fitting from the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).




4. Remove the air cleaner bolts (2).
5. Remove the air cleaner assembly (1) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Place the air cleaner assembly (1) into the vehicle.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the air cleaner bolts (2).

Tighten the bolts to 15 Nm (11 lb ft).




3. Connect the AIR pump inlet hose (1) quick connect fitting to the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).




4. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the MAF/IAT sensor (2).
5. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement).
