Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement

Special Tools

CH-45722 - Fuel Tank Sender Wrench

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools (Tools and Equipment).

Removal Procedure

Warning: Refer to Gasoline/Gasoline Vapors Warning (Service Precautions).

1. Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement (Cab/Chassis - Front) (Fuel Tank Replacement (Cab/Chassis - Front))Fuel Tank Replacement (Cab/Chassis - Rear) (Fuel Tank Replacement (Cab/Chassis - Rear))Fuel Tank Replacement (Pickup) (Fuel Tank Replacement (Pickup)).




2. Disconnect the fuel feed and return pipes (1). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).




3. Using the CH-45722 - wrench , remove the cam lock ring (1) by turning counter-clockwise.




4. Remove the fuel sender assembly (1) and O-ring (2).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the fuel sender assembly (1) and O-ring (2).




2. Using the CH-45722 - wrench , install the cam lock ring (1) by turning clockwise.




3. Connect the fuel feed and return pipes (1). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).
4. Install the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement (Cab/Chassis - Front) (Fuel Tank Replacement (Cab/Chassis - Front))Fuel Tank Replacement (Cab/Chassis - Rear) (Fuel Tank Replacement (Cab/Chassis - Rear))Fuel Tank Replacement (Pickup) (Fuel Tank Replacement (Pickup)).
