Oil Pressure Sensor: Service and Repair




Engine Oil Pressure Sensor and/or Switch Replacement

Special Tools

J-41712 - Oil Pressure Sensor Socket

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools (Special Tools).

Removal Procedure

Note: Clean the area around the sensor. Do not allow debris to enter the engine.




1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Disconnect the engine harness electrical connector (2) from the oil pressure sensor.
3. Remove the oil pressure sensor (1) using J-41712 - socket.

Installation Procedure




1. Apply sealant to the threads of the oil pressure sensor, if necessary. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers (Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers) for the correct part number.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the oil pressure sensor (1) using J-41712 - socket and tighten to 49 Nm (36 lb ft).
3. Connect the engine harness electrical connector (2) to the oil pressure sensor.
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Check and add engine oil, if necessary.
