Battery Negative Cable Replacement




Battery Negative Cable Replacement (Diesel)

Removal Procedure





1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (TP2) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (TP2)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery).

2. Remove the retainers (2) holding the battery negative cable to the battery tray and transmission cooler line.





3. Remove the engine ground bolt (1) and the frame ground bolt (2).

4. Disconnect the remaining retainers and remove the battery negative cable (3) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

1. Install the frame ground bolt (2) and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).

2. Install the engine ground bolt (1) and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).

3. Connect the battery retainer clips to the harness and the frame bracket.





4. Connect the battery retainer clips to the battery tray and transmission cooler line.

5. Install the battery negative post clamp to the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (TP2) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (TP2)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery).
