Component Test

Primary Slow Mixture Cut-Off Solenoid:

1. Turn ignition off. Remove primary slow mixture cut-off solenoid retaining screws and solenoids.
2. Using a test wire ground solenoid bodies.
3. Turn ignition on.

Expected result:
Solenoids retract. If OK test complete. If not OK continue.

4. Turn ignition off. Unplug solenoid electrical connector and check voltage on harness side of connector.

Expected result:
Battery voltage.

5. If voltage was present and one or both solenoids did not retract in step 3, replace inactive solenoid(s).
6. If voltage was not present refer to testing procedures outlined in COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROLS.
