Tailgate Lock Cylinder Replacement

NOTE: Put on gloves to protect your hands.

1. Remove the tailgate trim panel.




2. Disconnect the cylinder rod (A) and lock cylinder switch connector (B) (if applicable), then detach the lock cylinder switch connector from the tailgate.




3. Remove the bolt securing the lock cylinder (A). Then turn the tailgate lock cylinder 45 ° and remove it.
4. Install the lock cylinder in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Make sure the connector is plugged in properly.
- Make sure the tailgate opens properly and locks securely.
- Check the operation of the tailgate lock cylinder.
