Drive Motor Power Cable: Service and Repair

Motor Power Cable Removal/Installation

NOTE: Put on gloves to protect your hands.

IMA components are located in this area. The IMA is a high-voltage system. You must be familiar with the IMA system before working on or around it. Make sure you have read the IMA information before performing repairs or service.
1. Remove the IPU lid.





2. Remove the PDU cover B (A).





3. Remove the cable stay (A) and U phase motor power cable (B), V phase motor power cable (C) and W phase motor power cable (D), then wrap them with insulating tape.

NOTE: Check the position of the U phase, V phase and W phase cables before disconnecting the motor power cables.

4. Drain the engine coolant.
5. Remove the air cleaner.





6. Remove the radiator hose (A) and connecting pipe (B).





7. Remove the cover (A) and U phase motor power cable (B), V phase motor power cable (C) and W phase motor power cable (D), then wrap the cables them with insulating tape.

NOTE: Check the position of the U phase, V phase, and W phase before disconnecting the motor power cable.





8. Remove the motor power cable (A).








9. Remove the bolts (A) and the motor power cable (B).
10. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
