How to End a Troubleshooting Session (required after any troubleshooting)
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF, then ON (II).
2. Check for DTCs.
3. Clear the DTCs from the VTM-4 control unit memory.
4. Disconnect the HDS from the 16P DLC.
5. Verify that the problem has been repaired by test driving the vehicle for several minutes in 4WD mode.

4WD Mode
Use this procedure to engage and disengage the 4WD mode. Perform this procedure in a safety area way from traffic.
1. On dry pavement, accelerate from a stop to 45 mph using 1/4 to 1/2 throttle.
2. Hold the 45 mph speed steady for about 30 seconds, then apply the brakes to come to a stop.
3. In a safe area, do 10 figure-eight patterns with the steering wheel at full lock. Accelerate at the start of each circle to make the VTM-4 clutches engage and disengage.
