Fluid - M/T: Service and Repair
Transmission Fluid Inspection and Replacement1. Park the vehicle on level ground, and turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
2. Remove the oil filler plug (A) and the washer (B), check the condition of the fluid, and make sure it is at the proper level (C).
3. If the fluid is dirty, remove the drain plug (A) and drain it.
4. Install the drain plug (A) with a new washer (B), and refill the transmission fluid to the proper level.
Fluid Capacity
1.48 Liters (1.56 US quarts) at fluid change
1.62 Liters (1.71 US quarts) at overhaul
Always use Honda Manual Transmission Fluid (MTF). If it is not available, you may use an API service SG, SH or SJ grade motor oil with a viscosity of SAE 10W-30 or 10W-40 as a temporary replacement.
5. Install the oil filler plug (C) with a new washer (D).
