Power Tailgate Sensor Replacement

Removal

1. Remove the left rear side trim panel Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Rear Side Area, then the power tailgate drive unit Service and Repair.

2. Separate the power tailgate drive unit 8P connector (A), and remove the three screws (B) and the power tailgate sensor (C).






3. Record the power tailgate sensor connector terminals location and the wire harness color.

4. Disassemble power tailgate drive unit connector B (8P) (A), then remove the two terminals (B) from the connector.

NOTE: The connector is a part of the power tailgate sensor.






Installation

5. Insert the new terminals into the connector in the original arrangement.






6. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

7. Reset the power tailgate control unit Programming and Relearning.
