Latch Replacement - Liftgate

Removal Procedures

1. Open the liftgate




2. Remove the fasteners (1) retaining the latch to the liftgate.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the latch.
4. Disconnect the latch release cable (3) by releasing the retainer and removing the cable end from the cup.
5. Remove the latch from the liftgate.



Installation Procedure





1. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the latch.
2. Connect the latch release cable by placing the cable end in the cup and securing the retainer (3) to the latch.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the fasteners (1) retaining the latch to the liftgate.

Tighten fasteners to 25 Nm (19 lb ft).

4. Inspect the latch for proper operation.
