Lubricant Replacement - Rear Drive Axle

Removal Procedure





1. Clean the area around the rear axle fill plug.
2. Remove the rear axle drain plug and drain the lubricant into a suitable container.





3. Remove the rear axle cover.

Installation Procedure





Important: A new gasket is not required unless the gasket is damaged.

1. Install the rear axle cover.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

2. Install the drain plug.
^ Tighten the drain plug to 33 Nm (24 ft. lbs.).
3. Fill the rear axle with axle lubricant. Use the proper fluid.
4. Inspect the fluid level.
