Component Inspection
Valve Timing Control (VTC) Solenoid Valve Test:
1.
Disconnect the solenoid connector.
2.
Apply battery voltage to terminals
(a) and
(b) as shown.
CAUTION: Reversing polarity will damage the solenoid.
3.
The solenoid should make a clicking sound when voltage is applied and released.
Replace the solenoid if it fails the above test.
