Panic Alarm Function Does Not Operate

PANIC ALARM FUNCTION DOES NOT OPERATE

Description

NOTE:
- Before performing the following procedure, check "Work Flow". Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.
- Check that vehicle is under the condition shown in "Conditions of vehicle" before starting diagnosis, and check each symptom.

CONDITIONS OF VEHICLE (OPERATION CONDITIONS)

- Power supply position: OFF or LOCK
- PANIC ALARM SET: MODE 1
Check the setting of "PANIC ALARM SET" in "Work Support" mode of "INTELLIGENT KEY" of "BCM" using
"CONSULT".


Diagnosis Procedure


1. CHECK REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY FUNCTION

Check remote keyless entry function. System Description.
Does door lock or unlock when operating Intelligent key button?
YES- GO TO 2.
NO- Go to Door Does Not Lock/Unlock With Intelligent Key.

2. CHECK VEHICLE SECURITY ALARM OPERATION

Check vehicle security alarm operation. System Description.
Is alarm (headlamps and horns) activated?
YES- GO TO 3.
NO- Go to Vehicle Security Alarm Does Not Activate.

3. CHECK "PANIC ALARM" BUTTON OPERATION

1.Turn ignition switch ON.
2.Select "RKE-PANIC" and "RKE OPE COUN-1" in "Data Monitor" mode of "INTELLIGENT KEY" of "BCM"
using CONSULT.
3.Check "RKE-PANIC" and "RKE OPE COUN-1" indications when pressing (for approximately 0.5 seconds)
"PANIC ALARM" button of Intelligent Key.





Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 4.
NO- Replace Intelligent Key.

4. CONFIRM THE OPERATION

Confirm the operation again.
Is the result normal?
YES- Check intermittent incident. Intermittent Incident.
NO- GO TO 1.
