Timing Belt: Testing and Inspection




1. Look for cracks in the side and the rear faces of the timing belt. The belt must be replaced if these cracks are present.




2. Look for signs of abnormal wear around the side faces of the timing belt The belt must be replaced if there is abnormal wear.




3. Look for signs of cracking or deterioration in the timing belt fabric. The belt must be replaced if these conditions are present
4. Look for signs of abnormal wear in the timing belt cogs. The belt must be replaced if there is abnormal wear.




5. Check for rubber hardness at three to five points around the circumference of the timing belt. The belt must be replaced if even a single one of these measurements is outside the specified limits.
