Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove air cleaner assembly.
2. Disconnect throttle position sensor electrical connector.
3. Remove throttle position sensor attaching screws.
4. Remove throttle position sensor.
5. Remove throttle position sensor seal.

NOTICE:
- The throttle position sensor is an electrical component and must not be soaked in any liquid cleaner or solvent, as damage may result.

INSTALLATION
1. Insert throttle position sensor onto throttle position sensor drive shaft on throttle body.
- Line up throttle position sensor lever with throttle position sensor drive lever on throttle body.

IMPORTANT: The hardware used to attach the throttle position sensor is factory coated with thread locking adhesive. If the throttle position sensor is removed for service, inspect the attaching hardware screw threads for thread-locking material.

2. Install throttle position sensor attaching screws (52).

Tighten throttle position sensor attaching screws to 2.0 N.m (18 lb.in.).

3. Connect electrical connector.
4. Install air cleaner assembly.
