Unable to Lock the Vehicle Using Key Fob
Transmitter - Switch Flap Not Fully Closed -
Replace Ignition Lock Cylinder

Issue:

Some X-TYPE vehicles within the above VIN range, may exhibit a condition where it is not possible to lock the vehicle with the key fob transmitter. The cause of this condition is that the ignition switch "key-in" switch flap has not fully closed over the opening for the ignition key.

Action:

Check the operation of the lock button on two or more key fob transmitters. If the car fails to lock from both transmitters, and the "key-in" switch flap is not fully closed, install a new ignition switch lock cylinder.

To install a new ignition switch lock cylinder, refer to Global Technical Reference (GTR) Workshop Manual Section 211-04, SRO 57.40.29, Ignition switch lock cylinder.
