Vehicle Displays "Restricted Performance" on the Message
Center with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P2135 Stored
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
CONDITION SUMMARY:
"RESTRICTED PERFORMANCE" DISPLAYED ON MESSAGE CENTER WITH DTC P2135 STORED
Situation:
A concern may be reported that the vehicle displays a restricted performance message with DTC P2135 stored. The vehicle will encounter a loss of power and poor acceleration. Under specific conditions, the pedal demand sensor adaptions can adapt to a level that is determined to be a failure condition.
Action:
Should a customer express concern, refer to the Repair Procedure detailed in this bulletin to reconfigure the Engine Control Module (ECM) using Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS).

IDS DVD104 with Patch File 5 (or later) software installed

REPAIR PROCEDURE
RE-CONFIGURE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE
NOTE:
This procedure requires IDS DVDIO4 with Patch File 5 or later software.
CAUTION:
A Midtronics PSC-550 Vehicle Power Supply must be connected to the vehicle battery during diagnosis and module configuration.
1. Connect the Midtronics PSC-550 power supply to the vehicle battery.
2. Connect IDS to the vehicle and begin a new diagnostic session by entering the correct VIN for the current vehicle.
3. Follow the IDS prompts to read the vehicle configuration file (CCF) uploads.
4. When prompted "Do you wish to read diagnostic trouble codes?", select "YES" and then press "tick" to continue.
5. Follow all on-screen instructions to clear the fault code.
6. When the "Content Model" is displayed select "Vehicle Configuration" tab.
7. From the "Vehicle Configuration Menu" expand the "Module Programming" menu.
8. From the Module Programming Menu, expand the "Configure Existing Modules" menu.
9. Select and run "Engine Control Module (ECM)".
10. Follow all on-screen instructions to complete this task.
11. When the task is completed, end the current session.
12. Disconnect IDS and the power supply from the vehicle.
