Air Bag Control Module: Service and Repair

SRSCM (SRS CONTROL MODULE)

REMOVAL




1. Disconnect the negative (-) cable from battery and wait for at least three minutes
2. Remove ignition key from the vehicle
3. Disconnect the DAB, PAB, CAB and BPT connectors.
4. Remove the center console.




5. Disconnect the SRSCM harness connector (A) from the SRSCM (B).
6. Remove the four console bracket mounting bolts and nuts




7. Remove the SRSCM mounting bolt and nuts(A) from the SRSCM and pull out the SRSCM(B) from the bracket.

INSTALLATION




1. Disconnect the negative (-) cable from battery and wait for at least three minutes.
2. Remove ignition key from the vehicle.
3. Install the SRSCM on the bracket with the three mounting bolt and nuts.

Tightening Torque (SRSCM Mounting Bolt) : 8 - 14 N.m (80 - 140 kg.cm, 5.9 - 10.3 lb.ft)

4. Install the console bracket with the four mounting bolts and nuts.

Tightening Torque : 8 - 14 N.m (80 - 140 kg.cm, 5.9 - 10.3 lb.ft)

5. Connect the SRSCM harness connector.
6. Install the center console.
7. Connect the DAB, PAB, CAB and BPT connectors.
8. After installing the SRSCM, confirm proper system operation:
- Turn the ignition switch ON; the SRS indicator light should blink for six times and then go off.
