Air Bag Control Module: Service and Repair

SRS Control Module

REMOVAL




1. Disconnect the negative (-) cable from battery and wait for at least three minutes.
2. Remove ignition key from the vehicle.
3. Disconnect the DAB, PAB, SAB, CAB and BPT connectors.
4. Remove the center console.




5. Disconnect the SRSCM harness connector (A) from the SRSCM (B).




6. Remove the SRSCM mounting bolts (A) from the SRSCM and pull out the SRSCM from the bracket.

Tightening Torque (SRSCM Mounting Bolt) : 8 - 10 N.m (5.9 - 7.4 lb.ft)

INSTALLATION




1. Disconnect the negative (-) cable from battery and wait for at least three minutes.
2. Remove ignition key from the vehicle.
3. Install a SRSCM on the bracket with the three mounting bolts.

Tightening Torque (SRSCM Mounting Bolt) : 8 - 10 N.m (5.9 - 7.4 lb.ft)

4. Connect the SRSCM harness connector.
5. Install the center console.
6. Connect the DAB, PAB, SAB, CAB and BPT connectors.
7. After installing the SRSCM, confirm proper system operation:
A. Turn the ignition switch ON; the SRS indicator light should blink for about six seconds and then go off.
