Oil Filter: Service and Repair

OIL FILTER
Service repair no -12.60.04


Remove
1. Raise front of vehicle.

WARNING: Support on safety stands.

2. Remove engine acoustic cover (if applicable).
3. Position drain tray to catch spillage.





4. Remove oil filter cartridge.

Refit
5. Clean mating face of oil pump.
6. Lubricate oil filter seal with clean engine oil.
7. Fit oil filter and tighten until rubber seal contacts machined face. Tighten a further half turn by hand.

CAUTION: DO NOT overtighten oil filter.

8. Run engine to allow oil to fill filter.
9. Stop engine, check and top up oil level.
10. Fit engine acoustic cover (if applicable).
11. Remove stand(s) and lower vehicle.
