Vacuum Pump - EGR System

Service repair no - 17.45.30

Remove
1. Disconnect battery negative terminal.
2. Remove camshaft cover.
3. Position harness trunking aside.
4. Release clip and disconnect pipe from vacuum pump.
5. Remove 2 bolts securing vacuum pump.


NOTE: Dowel bolt is used to secure inlet manifold side of vacuum pump.


6. Remove vacuum pump and discard 'O' ring seal.







7. Clean sealing faces of vacuum pump and cylinder head.

Refit
8. Fit new 'O' ring seal to vacuum pump.
9. Apply STC 3373 to threads of dowel bolt.
10. Position vacuum pump and engage drive dog with camshaft slot.
11. Secure vacuum pump with bolts. Tighten to 22 Nm (16 labor.ft).


CAUTION: Ensure that dowel bolt passes through timing chain guide rail bolt.


12. Connect pipe to vacuum pump and secure with clip.
13. Align harness trunking.
14. Fit camshaft cover.
15. Connect battery negative terminal.
