Knock Sensor: Testing and Inspection

COMPONENTS

1. REMOVE V-BANK COVER
2. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR
3. DISCONNECT THROTTLE BODY
4. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY
5. REMOVE KNOCK SENSOR
a. Disconnect the knock sensor connectors.

b. Using SST remove the 2 knock sensors.
SST 09816-30010

6. INSPECT KNOCK SENSOR

Using an ohmmeter, check that there is no continuity between the terminal and body.
If there is continuity, replace the sensor.

7. REINSTALL KNOCK SENSOR

a. Using SST, install the 2 knock sensors.
SST 09816-30010

Torque: 44 N.m (450 kgf.cm, 33 ft.lbf)

b. Connect the knock sensor connectors.

8. REINSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY
9. RECONNECT THROTTLE BODY
10. CHECK FOR FUEL LEAKS
11. REINSTALL INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR
12. REINSTALL V-BANK COVER
