Airbag Sensor Front RH:

AIRBAG SENSOR FRONT LH

REPLACEMENT

HINT:
- The installation procedures are the removal procedures in reverse order. However, only installation procedures requiring additional information are included.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.

1. PRECAUTION
Refer to Air Bag Systems; Service Precautions.
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

3. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER
4. REMOVE AIRBAG SENSOR FRONT LH




a. Remove the bolt and airbag sensor.




b. Disconnect the airbag sensor connector.

HINT: Insert a screwdriver in any of the three openings of the sensor,and slide the sensor to disconnect it from the connector.

5. INSTALL AIRBAG SENSOR FRONT LH
a. Install the airbag sensor with the bolt.

Torque: 20 N.m (200 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf)

b. Connect the airbag sensor connector.
c. Check that no play is identified.

6. INSPECT AIRBAG SENSOR FRONT LH
7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
8. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

9. INSPECT SRS WARNING LAMP
