XB139 - Attempt to Isolate Short to Ground



- Key "OFF".

- Again, clear continuous memory. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

- Unplug Inertia Fuel Shutoff (IFS) switch.

- Crank engine for 5 seconds.

- Rerun Key On Engine Off (KOEO) Self-Test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)

- Is Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 583 present (disregard other codes)?

Yes -- Go to XB140. XB140 - Check Power to Pump/FPM Circuit For Short to Ground

No -- Go to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction to check for short to ground in power-to-pump circuit (IFS switch to pump) or short to ground in fuel pump. After service, rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
