Parking Brake System: Adjustments

1. Ensure parking brake is completely released.
2. Block front wheels, then raise and support rear of vehicle.
3. Adjust parking brake lever screw or nut until wheels are locked when the brake lever is pulled the number of notches specified below:
a. 1984 B2000 and B2200, 5-10 notches.
b. 1984-85 GLC, 5-9 notches.
c. 1984-85 RX-7, 6-8 notches.
d. 1983-87 626, 7-9 notches.
e. 1986-87 323, 7-11 notches.
f. 1986 B2000, 11-13 notches.
g. 1987 B2200 and B2600, 7-12 notches.
h. 1988 323, 626 & MX-6, 5-7 notches.
4. After parking brake is adjusted properly, apply parking brake several times, then release and ensure rear wheels rotate freely without any drag.
5. Ensure parking brake warning light, if equipped, illuminates when the brake lever is pulled one notch.
