Valve Clearance: Adjustments


Prior to adjusting valve clearances, ensure flat surface on rocker arm ball is facing downward.
1. Loosen locknut and insert specified feeler gauge between rocker arm and valve stem, or between rocker arm and cam. Refer to ``Valve Specifications'' for proper clearances.
2. Turn adjusting screw until specified clearance is obtained, then tighten locknut and recheck clearance. Whenever engine is overhauled, warm up engine and readjust valve clearance after torquing cylinder head bolts to specifications.
