Idle Speed: Adjustments

Before checking or adjusting the idle speed and idle mixture, the following should be done.

1. Set the parking brake and block the wheels.
2. Switch off all accessories.
3. Connect a tachometer to the engine.
4. Warm up the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature.

ADJUSTMENT

Adjust the idle speed to specifications (650 rpm in "D" range with an automatic transmission or neutral with a manual transmission) by turning the throttle adjust screw.
