Water Pump: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable and drain engine coolant.
2. Remove left timing belt cover, then the right timing belt cover attaching bolts.
3. Align camshaft pulley timing marks.
4. Loosen tensioner lock bolt and press inward on timing belt, then, when tensioner is fully to left, tighten tensioner locknut.
5. Remove timing belt by slightly turning camshaft pulley.
6. Disconnect heater hose and the radiator return hose, then remove water pump with gasket.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
