Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Testing and Inspection
1.
Raise and support vehicle.
2.
Disconnect
neutral switch electrical connector.
3.
Connect circuit tester to terminals of switch.
4.
On vehicles equipped with automatic transmission, start engine and run at idle, then apply brakes securely.
5.
Ensure continuity when shift lever is in neutral and no continuity when shift lever is in any other position.
