Idle Speed/Throttle Actuator - Electronic: Testing and Inspection

1. Start and operate engine at idle.
2. Turn A/C switch to ON position and ensure engine speed does not decrease.
3. Disconnect air supply valve electrical connector and ensure engine speed decreases.
4. Connect air supply valve electrical connector and ensure engine speed increases to 800 RPM (curb idle speed).
5. Turn steering wheel either to the right of left and ensure compressor magnetic clutch switches OFF.
6. If not, adjust air supply valve as follows:
a. Ensure engine is at normal operating temperature and operating at correct curb idle speed.
b. Connect a suitable tachometer onto engine as per manufacturer's instructions.
c. Disconnect vent and vacuum solenoid valve connector.
d. Check and adjust curb idle speed, if necessary.
e. Disconnect air supply valve electrical connector and apply battery voltage onto connector terminals.
f. With battery voltage applied to terminals, engine speed should be 1000-1070 RPM. If not, adjust engine speed by turning adjusting screw until specified speed is obtained.
