Throttle Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

1. Warm engine to normal operating temperature.
2. Ensure accelerator cable is properly adjusted and idle speed is within specification.
3. Turn ignition switch to On position.
4. Connect voltmeter to YR wire of throttle sensor connector Fig. 7.
5. Check voltage while slowly opening and closing throttle valve. Voltage should be 4.7---5.1 volts with throttle valve fully open and .4---.6 volt with throttle valve closed.
6. If voltage is not as described, adjust throttle sensor setting by turning adjusting screw.
