1. Remove EGR modulator valve.
2. On 1986 models, plug No. 3 and No. 2 ports and attach suitable vacuum pump to No. 1 port.
3. On 1987-88 models, plug No. 1 port and attach suitable vacuum pump to No. 3 port.
4. On all models, blow into exhaust gas port.
5. Operate vacuum pump and ensure vacuum is held.
6. Release exhaust gas port and ensure vacuum is released.
